Eagle Cap Innovative Jr/Sr High School Counselor

My name is Erin Justus, and I am a school counselor for the amazing students at Eagle Cap Innovative Jr/Sr High School and Baker Middle School.

As the school counselor, my role is to support our students and implement a comprehensive school counseling program. A comprehensive school program focuses on three key standards: academic, career, and person and social skills. This can be implemented through classroom guidance lessons, leading small group instruction, and providing brief individual counseling, along with aiding staff and administration. A brief explanation of the American School Counselor Assocation’s (ASCA) school counselor’s role is located at the link attached: Role of the School Counselor

A little bit of my background: I grew up in Baker and attended elementary through high school here. I received my Bachelor’s in Sociology from California State University-Sacramento and my Master’s in School Counseling from the University of Nevada-Reno. I have worked at the elementary level for the last 5 years, with my time split between Baker and Reno, Nevada. When I started my education, my goal was to graduate and eventually come back to what I have always considered home to help facilitate a healthier community.

I love working with youth and am grateful for the opportunity to support the academic, career, and personal/social growth of our Baker students. I look forward to seeing them develop throughout the years. Please do not hesitate to call if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Erin
